Occupational therapists encounter a diversity of clients and should be prepared to provide equitable and comprehensive care. Therefore, they must understand the impact of cultural differences and the appropriate way of providing treatment. This can be fostered through ensuring culturally sensitive practice where clinicians know the boundaries, expectations and values of clients, to reduce health inequities (Betsch & Bohm, 2016). To foster this in my practice, I will utilise communication skills mindful of cultural differences, to ensure the intended message is understood.
